CALIFORNIA BREAK AWAY TRIP 2012

Important Trip Dates:

          - TUESDAY FEBRUARY 21 - 7:00PM Team meeting at the Ponoka Youth Centre

          - SATURDAY FEBRUARY 18 - Popcorn fundraiser popping day

          - THRUSDAY MARCH 22 - Leave for Trip

          - SUNDAY APRIL 1- Return Home

 

FAQ's:

Will the trip be safe? We as a team take every precaution to keep your child safe! Jake will personally be taking a pre-trip to every area that we will be working so there will be nothing new or unexpected that should happen. We always travel in groups as we maintain at least a 7:1 student to Leader ratio. We will stay in good communication with contact people on the ground so we know what is happening in each area that we travel and avoid risky situations.

Do we have to pay for meals?  On travel days each student will need to pay for lunch themselves, breakfast and supper will be provided. These days will be March 22nd (no breakfast), 23rd, 30th, 31st and 1st.  Other than that all meals will be provided.

Is there a dress code?  We encourage all students to dress modestly at all times, including pool and beach time. No string bikinis, string strap tank tops or shorts above mid thigh. Students should bring work clothes that can get dirty as well as some casual dress attire for Church.

Do you have a packing list?  A packing list will come soon with a detailed schedule.

How much spending money should my child bring?  This is a tough question to answer and up to your discretion as a parent, but we feel that $200 spending money along with food money should be more than adequate.
